Overall:
I really like this photo. There are a few distractions in the background, but they're not really too consequential. The lighting is very nice, and there's a lot of emotion present.

Composition:
You can see part of the rest of the town/city on the left where the steps end, which is somewhat distracting. The lighting is great, and the capture of the birds in flight is wonderful. The contrast of the person and the door with the fairly subdued tones of the rest of the photo is very nice.

Emotion:
This photo is so cool. It reminds me of any number of the fantasy novels I've read. It'sa dark, and seems kind of apocalyptic to me. The seemingly oldness of the building and the steps really adds to the feeling.
